To make the most of the college surroundings we have decided to use the canteen as another location to film. We based this idea on two film clips of a typical, teenage love story. We used scenes from both Mean Girls and She's The Man. These clips represent the streotypes we wanted to represent in our film opening and also relate to our opening as they are quite commical.
During the Mean Girls clip it gives a clear indication of the stereotypes within high school. It is the canteen scene at the beggining of the film where a new girl tries to get to grips with the different dynamics within her new school. We think that this an interesting clip on which to base our intial ideas on as it clearly shows the seperate groups in a high school setting. The character that we thinking of will not be new to the school but she will have the same difficulties in trying to figure out the social groups and which one she belongs to. We have decided to base part of our film opening around the college canteen environment and we thought that the Mean girls clip was helpful in planning our ideas as it is based around the same age group and has a similar intended audience.
